I NEED A SIDEWALK
I Need A Sidewalk was a collaborative visual advocacy project in which I collaborated with two fellow designers Tom Morse-Brown and Tammy Shell. We were able to work side by side with the Rosedale Development Association in Kansas City (specifically the Healthy Kids Initiative) to help find a way graphic design can help lower the obesity level in children in that area. Our aim in campaigning along a stretch of road with no sidewalk or crosswalk was to put pressure on the city to provide the means for children to get to the park in safety and have access to a healthy lifestyle. The project won a national award with Design Ignites Change (Adobe, World Studios NY) including a $4,700 grant to develop the website, billboard and buttons shown below. The campaign went into market Spring of 2011.
